# GetProofAnchor

> GetProofAnchor turns any web page into tamper-evident, court-admissible digital evidence. Each capture is sealed with an eIDAS-qualified timestamp from an EU-accredited Trust Service Provider (SK ID Solutions AS, Estonia), anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps, and packaged as an Evidence ZIP that anyone can verify independently — without relying on GetProofAnchor. ## What it is

GetProofAnchor is a web evidence capture platform (operated by Forehead s.r.o.). It solves a specific problem: an ordinary screenshot has no cryptographic hash, no qualified timestamp, no source provenance, and no chain of custody — so courts and regulators increasingly reject it. GetProofAnchor captures the state of a public or authenticated web page at a precise moment and produces a verifiable Evidence ZIP.

Each Evidence ZIP contains four independent integrity layers, each independently verifiable by a third party:
- **SHA-256 manifest** — every file's hash recorded in manifest.json; editing a single byte fails the integrity check.
- **Append-only hash chain** — each capture links to the previous one, so reordering or altering past entries breaks the chain.
- **eIDAS qualified timestamp** — RFC 3161 token from an EU-accredited QTSP, recognized across the EU/EEA under Regulation (EU) 910/2014, Article 42, with the legal presumption of Article 41.
- **Bitcoin OpenTimestamps anchor** — the manifest hash is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain, independently verifiable forever even if GetProofAnchor ceases to exist.

Verification is vendor-independent: the open-source `gpa-verify` CLI (on GitHub and PyPI) runs fully offline, contacts no servers, and produces a deterministic Match / Modified verdict using open standards (RFC 3161, CMS/RFC 5652, X.509, SHA-256, OpenTimestamps).

## Legal framework (eIDAS)

Every GetProofAnchor capture is sealed with a qualified electronic timestamp under Regulation (EU) 910/2014 (eIDAS): Article 41(2) grants a legal presumption of the accuracy of date/time and of data integrity, Article 41(3) makes the timestamp recognized in all EU member states, and Article 42 defines the requirements met by the EU-accredited issuing QTSP. 3. Hashes are computed at capture time, sealed with an eIDAS qualified timestamp, and anchored to Bitcoin.

5. Anyone can later verify the ZIP with the open-source verifier — Match or Modified.
