1. Introduction
GetProofAnchor (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides tools to capture web content as tamper-evident records, including screenshots, extracted content, technical metadata, and evidence packages (“Proofs”).
This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and the choices you may have.
2. What we collect
2.1 Account & usage data
When you create an account or use the service, we may process:
- Email address and account identifiers
- Subscription and billing status (handled via payment processors such as Stripe)
- Usage metadata (timestamps, feature usage, plan limits)
2.2 Captured content (user-initiated)
When you create a proof, we process only content you explicitly choose to capture. This may include:
- Webpage URL
- Full-page or viewport screenshots
- Extracted visible text content
- Technical metadata (timestamp, viewport size, user agent, capture mode)
Important: We do not automatically capture your browsing. Captures occur only when initiated by you.
2.3 Browser extension data
The GetProofAnchor browser extension captures page content only when the user triggers a capture action. Captured data is transmitted to GetProofAnchor to create a proof.
- No background browsing tracking
- No keystroke logging
- No selling or sharing data for advertising
3. What we do not collect
We do not collect passwords from third-party websites, and we do not attempt to access private data unless it is explicitly captured by the user as part of visible page content.
4. How we use information
We use information to operate the service, create proofs, generate Evidence ZIP packages and integrity manifests, provide verification, prevent abuse, and support users.
5. Storage & security
We store proof data on our systems and protect integrity using cryptographic hashes. “Tamper-evident” means modifications are intended to be detectable via integrity checks.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the service (e.g., hosting, payments), or when required by law.
7. Public verification
If you share a Proof ID or Evidence ZIP, third parties may be able to verify integrity using those items. Proofs are not public by default.
8. Retention
We retain account and proof data as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and maintain security. You may delete proofs or close your account, subject to operational and legal requirements.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data. Contact us at hello@getproofanchor.com.
10. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will indicate the latest version.
